Karatage has appointed Shane O’Callaghan as a senior partner and head of institutional strategy, adding an executive with experience across both traditional market-making and crypto-focused firms.
O’Callaghan joins Karatage from IMC Trading, a well-known quantitative trading and market-making firm. Before IMC, he held senior roles at Portofino Technologies and BlockFi, a crypto lender that was a prominent name in the industry during the last market cycle.
The appointment highlights how crypto investment and trading firms continue to recruit executives with backgrounds spanning established trading houses and digital-asset companies.
