USDC Booms on Solana: $500M Minted, Weekly Issuance Hits $3.25B

Circle Mints $500 Million in USDC on Solana as Weekly Issuance Tops $3.25 Billion

Circle has minted $500 million worth of USD Coin (USDC) on the Solana blockchain, adding to a week in which total USDC issuance surpassed $3.25 billion.

Minting refers to the creation of new stablecoin tokens on a blockchain. In USDC’s model, new tokens are typically issued when demand increases and corresponding reserves are added, expanding the circulating supply available to users and applications on that network.

The latest mint on Solana matters because it increases the amount of USDC that can be used natively across Solana’s ecosystem, including decentralized exchanges, lending protocols, payments tools, and other on-chain activity that relies on stablecoin liquidity.

More broadly, the weekly issuance figure highlights that USDC supply can change meaningfully over short periods as activity shifts across crypto markets and networks. Tracking issuance across chains is a common way market participants gauge where stablecoin liquidity is being deployed and how quickly it is expanding.
