Bitwise Expands Into Tokenized Funds With $278M USCC Deal

Bitwise Enters Tokenized Fund Market With $278M USCC Takeover

Bitwise has entered the tokenized fund market by taking over the USCC product, a move involving $278 million in assets.

The development marks a step for Bitwise beyond traditional crypto investment vehicles and into tokenized funds—structures that use blockchain-based tokens to represent investor ownership in a fund.

Tokenized funds have been gaining attention as asset managers explore ways to use blockchain rails to streamline fund administration and broaden access, while keeping familiar fund structures. Bitwise’s takeover of USCC places the firm directly in that growing segment of the market.

With $278 million attached to the USCC product, the transaction is also notable for its scale relative to the still-emerging tokenized fund category, where many offerings remain small or pilot-stage.
