Ethereum at 11: Stablecoins Surge, Mainnet Fees Decline

Ethereum Turns 11 With $148B Stablecoin Base But Cooler Mainnet Fees

Ethereum has marked its 11th anniversary with a stablecoin market that now totals $148 billion on the network, alongside signs that mainnet transaction fees have cooled compared with earlier periods.

The milestone highlights how Ethereum’s role has evolved since launch: beyond powering decentralized applications, it has become a major settlement layer for dollar-pegged stablecoins used across trading, payments, and on-chain finance.

At the same time, the mention of “cooler mainnet fees” points to a different side of the network’s current state. Ethereum’s transaction costs have been a persistent concern during high-activity cycles, so lower fees can matter for everyday usability and for applications that rely on frequent on-chain transactions.

Together, the figures underscore a broader context in crypto markets: stablecoins remain one of the most widely used blockchain products, and Ethereum continues to be a central venue for that liquidity even as network conditions, including fee levels, fluctuate over time.
