USDT on Tron Tops Bitcoin in CoinsBee Payments

USDT on TRON overtakes Bitcoin in CoinsBee payment activity
USDT issued on TRON’s TRC-20 standard has surpassed Bitcoin as a payment method on CoinsBee, according to a new dataset covering a 90-day period from June 4 through September 1.
CoinsBee said TRC-20 USDT generated roughly 1.8 times as many completed payments as Bitcoin during the window, and about 1.9 times as many as Ethereum.
The shift also shows up in CoinsBee’s year-to-date figures. TRC-20 USDT accounted for 16.23% of CoinsBee payments in 2026 through the reporting period, up from 9.92% in 2025—an increase the company described as 64% in payment share.
Within CoinsBee’s USDT activity specifically, TRC-20 represented 44.6% of transaction count and 64.5% of total USDT turnover. CoinsBee framed the result as consistent with payment users prioritizing factors such as low transaction costs and broad exchange support when choosing which network to use.
CoinsBee and TRON DAO also disclosed a 2% promotional discount using code USDT-TRC running from September 21 through October 5, a factor that could influence payment behavior during the campaign period.
While the data shows TRC-20 USDT gaining share on CoinsBee, the company’s figures are platform-specific and do not represent overall global crypto payment activity across merchants, wallets, and networks.
Separately, TRON DAO pointed to broader stablecoin usage on the TRON network. It said that USDT on TRON accounts for over 55% of all USDT transaction volume and that the network processes an average of $20 billion in daily USDT transfers. As of May 2025, TRON reported 8.3 million daily transactions and more than 306 million user accounts, alongside over 1 million unique accounts transacting USDT daily.
