Bitfarms Exits Latin America, Sells Paraguay Bitcoin Mining Site for $30M

Bitcoin miner Bitfarms exiting Latin America with $30M sale of Paraguay site

Bitcoin mining firm Bitfarms is set to exit Latin America after agreeing to sell its last mining site in the region, located in Paso Pe, Paraguay.

The company has entered into a deal for the site valued at $30 million. Once completed, the transaction would mark Bitfarms’ departure from Latin America, closing out its remaining operational footprint there.

The move also signals a shift in Bitfarms’ strategic focus. The company said it will mostly concentrate on the high-performance computing (HPC) industry going forward, rather than continuing to expand its Bitcoin mining operations in the region.

For Bitcoin miners, location decisions are closely tied to infrastructure, energy access, and long-term capital planning. Bitfarms’ sale highlights how some mining firms are reshaping their asset bases and prioritizing alternative compute markets such as HPC alongside, or in place of, traditional mining growth.
