Ethereum Privacy Boost as Aztec Revives zk.money

Ethereum Gets Another Privacy Boost as Aztec Brings Back zk.money

Aztec Labs has relaunched zk.money, bringing its self-custodial wallet back on the Aztec Network with a renewed focus on private payments on Ethereum.

The updated zk.money is designed to let users make private stablecoin transfers while maintaining usability. In this relaunch, Aztec is highlighting the use of readable tags, a feature intended to make private payments easier to identify and manage without relying on long, error-prone addresses alone.

The return of zk.money matters because it reflects continued efforts to make privacy-preserving transactions more accessible in the Ethereum ecosystem. While Ethereum transactions are transparent by default, tooling built around zero-knowledge proofs aims to offer privacy properties—such as concealing transaction details—without requiring users to give up control of their funds.

By positioning zk.money as self-custodial, Aztec is emphasizing that users can interact with the wallet without handing assets over to a centralized intermediary, aligning with Ethereum’s broader push toward user-controlled infrastructure.
