XRP Holders Borrow RLUSD on Ethereum via $280M Pool

XRP holders can now borrow RLUSD on Ethereum through $280 million lending pool
XRP holders now have a new way to access liquidity on Ethereum: borrowing RLUSD through a lending pool reported to be sized at $280 million.
The update links XRP-backed collateral to an Ethereum-based borrowing venue, allowing users to borrow a dollar-pegged asset while remaining exposed to XRP. In practice, this can be used to unlock capital without selling XRP, using RLUSD as the borrowed asset on Ethereum.
The development matters because it reflects the continued growth of cross-chain activity, where assets that originate outside Ethereum are increasingly used within Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem. For XRP holders, it expands the set of onchain financial tools available beyond the XRP Ledger by making borrowing possible through an Ethereum pathway.
It also highlights the role stablecoins play in DeFi credit markets. Borrowing is typically denominated in stablecoins because they provide a more predictable unit of account for loans compared with volatile crypto assets. In this case, RLUSD functions as the borrowable asset, while XRP serves as the collateral base.
Beyond XRP specifically, the move underscores a broader trend: DeFi lending markets increasingly rely on bridges and cross-chain infrastructure to support collateral and liquidity from multiple networks, concentrating borrowing activity on large smart-contract platforms such as Ethereum.
