Solana Foundation Recruits Binance, Polygon Veterans to Accelerate Tokenized Finance

Solana Foundation hires Binance, Polygon veterans as it ramps up tokenized finance push

The Solana Foundation has added two senior hires as it steps up efforts to attract institutional use cases for onchain finance, bringing in executives with backgrounds at Binance and Polygon.

Rachel Conlan and Jamal Raees are joining the organization as Solana aims to court institutions moving payments and assets onchain, according to the announcement.

The hires underscore Solana’s focus on tokenized finance, a broad category that includes using blockchain rails to represent and move traditional financial assets digitally, as well as modernizing payment flows. For institutions, these initiatives typically center on operational efficiency, settlement speed, and the ability to manage assets with programmable rules.

Conlan and Raees bring experience from two of the industry’s most institution-facing corners: Binance, one of the largest crypto exchanges by activity, and Polygon, an ecosystem that has worked closely with enterprises and consumer brands on blockchain deployments.

Solana has increasingly positioned itself as infrastructure for high-throughput onchain activity, including payments and asset issuance. By expanding its leadership bench with veterans from major crypto platforms, the foundation is signaling that business development and institutional adoption are key priorities alongside technical development.
