Zcash ETF Tops $1 Billion, But Fresh Investor Money Remains Limited

Grayscale’s Zcash ETF Hits $1 Billion but Most of It Isn’t New Money

Grayscale’s Zcash exchange-traded fund has reached $1 billion in assets, marking a significant milestone for the product. However, most of that total does not represent newly invested capital.

The distinction matters because an ETF’s assets under management can increase for reasons other than fresh investor inflows. A large headline figure may therefore indicate the size of the fund without showing how much new money has entered the market.

For Grayscale’s Zcash ETF, the $1 billion milestone highlights growing exposure to the asset through a regulated investment vehicle, while also underscoring the need to separate total assets from genuine demand. Both figures provide different information about the fund’s development.
